APT and RWM Extend Partnership for a Further Three Years – Dates Confirmed for Two Events in 2018
The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has announced it has signed a new three-year exclusive agreement with its long-standing partner in the Philippines, Resorts World Manila (RWM). The agreement will guarantee players another three years of APT events at the very popular RWM casino venue. APT and RWM have fused a strong bond that dates back to 2010. Since then, the APT has held 18 successful international poker events at RWM including the monumental APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge back in 2013. This event currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest, continuous running poker tournament: 48 hours – 55 minutes – 58 seconds. Earlier this year, RWM hosted APT’s biggest event to-date, the APT Championships 2017 Philippines that ran for 12 days and attracted 733 players representing 36 nationalities. Next year’s confirmed APT events at RWM are: APT Philippines Championships 2018 (March 21 – April 1) and APT Philippines 2018 (September 11 – 20).

Kai Paulsen: the APT champion of champions! Hiromi Sato wins the Ladies Event
Macau, China, November 30, 2017 – All year the Asian Poker Tour has been prepping for its biggest player incentive of the year, the APT Game of Champions. Yesterday, the exclusive tournament opened the APT Finale Macau Championships 2017 at Macau Billionaire Poker in Babylon Casino. In the aftermath, Norway’s Kai Paulsen emerged victorious. Also winning an event trophy today was Japan’s Hiromi Sato at the Ladies of Poker. Recaps below. Kai Paulsen wins the APT GOC 18 APT trophy winners went in hard pursuit of the APT Game of Champions title and after two days of slugging it out on the felt, Kai Paulsen outlasted them all and was crowned the APT champion of champions. Paulsen is one of the APT’s loyal followers; he earned two qualifying entries to this event. For his huge triumph, he was awarded HKD 66,300 and the gorgeous one-of-a-kind glass trophy. Aivaras Bardaukas wins the Welcome Event; 167 entrants for the Warm Up
Another action-packed APT Kickoff Vietnam 2018 with crowds of players piling in the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh to take part in today’s festivities. Upon the plate was the Main Event Warm Up. While that had long lines out the door, running on the side was the Final 8 of the NLH Welcome Event. See the recaps below. Aivaras Bardaukas wins the Welcome Event After a thunderous opening day with 183 entrants for the NLH Welcome Event, only 8 players returned today to battle it out for the title and the VND 145,560,000 first prize. Although the final felt was dominated by Asians, it was the lone European, Aivaras Bardaukas from Lithuania who ran away with the victory. APT Vietnam 2018 wrapped up another starting day with 140 entries turning up at Pro Poker Club for the VND 6 Billion Guaranteed – MAIN EVENT. By the end of the scheduled nine rounds, only 52 remained with India’s 2018 WSOP bracelet winner Nikita Luther amassing the largest stack of 422,300. Nikita Luther One of the final hands Luther won was against Josh McCully. On a board of 5♣ 8♠ 8♥ Q♣ 6♣, and a pot of around 13k in the middle, McCully bet 16.8k, Luther raised enough to put the short-stacked McCully all in. McCully tanked until the clock was called. APT Korea Seoul 2019 is a wrap! After twelve days of competition that ran from May 29 to June 9 at Grand Walkerhill Paradise Casino, the festival concluded with plenty of winners including the awarding of the Championships Event and the APT Player of the Series. For the first time in Seoul, the APT guaranteed KRW 360 million in prizes split between the two featured events, the Main Event and the Championships Event. Both events exceeded the guarantee. Japan’s Go Saito won the Main Event for KRW 54,364,000 and Thailand’s Punnat Punsri shipped the Championships Event for KRW 60,430,000. Over the course of two featured events and 22 side events, the series attracted 343 unique players representing 31 countries for a total of 1238 entries and a grand prize pool of KRW 1,069,931,000 (~USD 905,700). A commanding victory for Eunho Kwon at the Monster Stack #1
July 5, Ho Chi Minh City – The second day of APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019 at Pro Poker Club witnessed another player emerge victorious. Korea’s Eunho Kwon took total command of the Monster Stack #1 event to capture his first-ever APT title. He shipped the VND 308,120,000 (~USD 13,200) first prize along with the APT Golden Lion event trophy. Kwon now leads the APT Player of the Series race. The final table action will be available for viewing on Friday, July 5 via APT Twitchand APT YouTube. Monster Stack #1 was the series opener drawing 131 to the tables. Daniel Tang ships the Monster Stack 1 opener and sets the pace of the APT Player of the Series race
The two-day Monster Stack 1 opened the festivities yesterday with 127 sign ups contributing TWD 16,500 (~USD 540). This built a pot worth TWD 1,847,800 (~USD 60,000). Day 1 closed with 41 remaining and the money still 19 spots away. Entering the Final Day, Hong Kong’s Chan Tsun Ming led in the pack and was trailed closely by Taiwan’s Philip Wang. As the day wore on, both Chan and Wang maintained their big stacks while several players joined in the leader’s zone. Three hours in, the bubble round arrived with 23 remaining.
